Part 1: A Hard Time in Finances
Neither of my parents went to college, in fact, my dad dropped out of high school when he was 17.
I'm not saying this to embarass them or anything, they are as happy as anyone who went on to earn degrees in higher education
if not happier! I'm explaining this to you so I can explain one way God has been working in my life.
Not too long ago dad quit one job because he found a higher paying one. This other job told
him that he had the job, he just had to come in for orientation. Well, in the middle of this orientation a secretary
came in the class room he was in to tell him they had changed thier mind and did not want to higher him. What could
he do? If they did not want him they were not going to higher him. So he did the only thing he could do and came
home searching for another job. SO, for about 2 weeks dad was unemployed. The first week bc he was going through that
orientation (He had gone through most of it) and the second week because he was looking for a new job.
So here we were, living for 2 weeks on only mom's income. She does not make enough to do that.
We were in big trouble. BIlls started piling up because those two weeks happen to be the last week of a month and the
first week of the next month when everything was due.
In my mind i was kind of panicing, but I had grown a lot in my faith and knew God was there to help
us along. I conored mom in her room and recited a passage where Jesus said are we not more important than the birds?
If he feeds them he will feed us. And I remember getting down on my knees and praying for those two weeks and asking
God to step in and Help us. At the end of those two weeks, two great things happened at the same time. Dad got
job and mom got a miraculous bonus check from her boss (God Bless her).
That did not end the hardships, but it was a help. Through out my family's troubles with money
and finances I have seen God's hand in many areas. And If I had to give a short answer as to why I believe there is
a personal God, it would have to be this: Love. That is all there is too it. God has shown his love, not only
through my family, but also to families all around us. That's all I have for now.
Peace!
