"The Big Bang is the scientific theory that the universe emerged from a tremendously dense and hot state about 13.7 billion years ago. The theory is based
on the observations indicating the expansion of space in accord with the Robertson-Walker model of general relativity, as indicated by the Hubble redshift of distant galaxies taken together with the cosmological principle.
Extrapolated into the past, these observations show that the universe has expanded from a state in which
all the matter and energy in the universe was at an immense temperature and density.
Physicists do not widely agree on what happened before this, although general relativity predicts a gravitational singularity." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang#History)
The other day I was discussing the big bang and origins
of the universe with an athiest. He admitted to me the no one knows what this "singularity" is. All they
think they know is that it was the driving force behind what is now known as the Big Bang.
What is the point of this article? Is it to try to disprove the big bang? No. I am a firm believer
in the big bang. Why would God create science and then go against it? He created it for a reason.
My Point is about the "singularity". The singularity is just as mysterious as God. No one
knows what it is or why it did what it did. Is it possible that this singularity is God? The force that drove the big bang
to happen was God? When discussing this topic with my atheist friend, he admitted that there was no evidence for this singularity
and the belief in God was just as valid. The whole reason he believes in the singularity over God is because the science community
does.
I agree "inteligent design" is not science. Science deals with the natural world, and God is
of the "super natural world". But, my question is, why reject the idea of God as the singularity if there is just as little
evidence to the contrary.
